WEC 2027

World Engineers Convention


Montréal will be hosting the 8th World Engineering Convention (WEC) from October 4 to 10, 2027. For the first time since its inception, the WEC of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations/Fédération Mondiale des Organisations d’Ingénieurs (WFEO/FMOI) will be held in Canada.

As a major international engineering event, the WEC 2027 will bring together thousands of delegates from around the world to discuss topics of interest for the engineering community.
Montréal is a true hub of engineering and scientific research, boasting 11 university institutions, 200 research centres, and several world-class engineering consulting firms. The city is also home to several organizations and headquarters dedicated to aerospace, life sciences, health technologies, and transportation sectors.

About WEC

The convention gives attendees the opportunity to get acquainted with professional competencies of engineers, keep abreast of industry news and research from around the world, and learn about the latest tools to help solve current and future problems and ensure the sustainable development of our society.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from global engineering experts, network with other engineering professionals, and explore important topics in the profession.

About WFEO

The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) is an international, non-governmental organization representing the engineering profession worldwide.

Founded in 1968 under the auspices of UNESCO in Paris, WFEO brings together national engineering organizations from some 100 nations and represents more than 30 million engineers from around the world. WFEO is the sole body representing the engineering profession of all kinds and disciplines at world level. It is an international platform where issues related to engineering are discussed and addressed. A key objective is to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through engineering.
