À l’écoute de la profession : une tournée virtuelle pour commencer l’année

Chers confrères et chères consœurs,

Je souhaite d’abord vous transmettre mes meilleurs vœux pour la nouvelle année. Plusieurs membres de la profession vivent en ce moment des situations difficiles en raison de la pandémie. Nous en sommes conscients et nous sommes de tout cœur avec vous.

J’en profite pour saluer le travail des ingénieurs qui, de près ou de loin, contribuent à faire en sorte que la COVID-19 soit derrière nous le plus tôt possible. Merci aussi à tous ceux et celles qui travaillent à gérer cette crise pour en diminuer les impacts.

Considéré comme un service essentiel, l’Ordre poursuit pour sa part ses activités, en conformité avec les directives de la santé publique. Nous faisons preuve d’agilité pour réaliser notre mission de protection du public et déployer le Plan ING 20-25 adopté l’an dernier.

J’ai présenté très brièvement ce plan stratégique au cours de la plus récente assemblée générale de l’Ordre. Pour en discuter davantage, et pour connaître votre opinion sur les défis actuels de la profession et sur le travail de l’Ordre, nous tiendrons le mois prochain deux rencontres virtuelles avec les membres.

Tournée virtuelle : 10 et 12 février

Je profiterai de ces deux rencontres pour échanger avec vous sur nos projets en cours, et notamment :

• les actions que nous priorisons afin que l’Ordre puisse jouer son rôle de protection du public sur des enjeux qui touchent votre pratique professionnelle ;
• les initiatives pour faire connaitre davantage la contribution des diverses disciplines du génie et leur rôle dans la société.

Ces rencontres seront avant tout une occasion de recueillir vos commentaires, d’entendre vos préoccupations et de répondre à vos questions.

Listening to the profession: a virtual tour to kick off the year

Dear Colleagues,

Let me start by wishing you all the best in the New Year. Many members of the profession are currently going through hard times due to the pandemic. We are aware of your situation and our thoughts are with you.

I would like to take this opportunity to salute the work of engineers who are helping, directly or indirectly, to make COVID-19 a thing of the past as quickly as possible. I would also like to thank all those who are working to manage this crisis in an effort to reduce its impacts.

Since the OIQ is considered an essential service, we are still running our operations, in compliance with public health directives. We are working with agility to fulfill our mission of protecting the public and to roll out the ENG 20-25 Plan adopted last year

I summarized this strategic plan very briefly at the OIQ’s most recent General Meeting. In the interest of discussing it further and finding out your opinions on the current challenges that face the profession and the OIQ’s work, we will hold two virtual meetings with members next month.

Virtual tour: February 10 and 12

I will use these two meetings to talk with you about our current projects, and particularly:

• the priority actions that the OIQ will take to fulfill its role in protecting the public in issues that affect your professional practice;
• the initiatives that we will take to bring more attention to the contributions made by the various fields of engineering and their role in society.

These meetings will mainly be an opportunity to gather your comments, listen to your concerns and answer your questions.
