How to become an \u201cEng.\u201d <\/h2>\n

Your path starts here.<\/strong>
\nYou can enroll in the Professional Admission Program once you\u2019ve accumulated 60 university credits<\/strong>. Access the program up to six months after receiving your engineering degree. But the earlier you start, the better. As you progress through the program, you\u2019ll build your expertise and strengthen your interpersonal skills, all under the expert guidance of your \u201ceng.\u201d supervisor. Meanwhile, you\u2019ll use the title \u201cCandidate to the Engineering Profession\u201d (CEP).<\/p>\n

The program is divided into three components<\/strong>, which you must complete within five years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Theory<\/h3>\n

This component consists of 30 hours of online training. You will complete courses on the legal, ethical, and professional aspects of engineering, after which you will need to pass a professional practice exam.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Language requirements<\/h3>\n

The Office qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de la langue fran\u00e7aise (OQLF) requires that you demonstrate proficiency in French. You can do so in one of the following ways: 1. Complete at least three years of full-time study at the secondary or post-secondary level. 2. Pass the fourth- or fifth-year secondary level exams in French as a first language (mother tongue). 3. Anywhere from two to five years. You\u2019ll need to gain a minimum of 24\u00a0months of practical experience under the supervision of an experienced engineer to fulfill the key competency requirements.
