The primary mission of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is to protect the interests of Quebecers by making sure that engineering is performed according to best practices and in line with the four major values of the profession, which are competence, responsibility, social commitment and ethics.
This section introduces the various bodies set up by the OIQ to monitor and supervise the practice of the engineering profession in Québec: the Professional Inspection Committee, the Disciplinary Council, the Office of the Syndic, the Enforcement Department, Conciliation and Arbitration of Accounts Department and the Review Committee. This section also provides information about the various recourses that you have at your disposal and the steps you will need to follow to lodge a complaint, report an irregularity or even request a disciplinary inquiry.
In addition, it lets you access the professional, disciplinary and court decisions and judgments that have been rendered. By consulting this section, you will be able to find out if a verdict has been issued on a complaint that you have made or check whether an engineer has ever been found guilty of an offence or was the subject of a penalty.
