A profession. A commitment. A vision.
The campaign, carried out by Bleublancrouge, will kick off on Sunday, November 13, with the broadcasting of a 30-second advertising spot on the Radio-Canada and TVA networks. The campaign will then be deployed in various media until December 4, before starting up again in March 2012, as part of the activities surrounding National Engineering Month.
“This campaign is the result of an approach based on research and studies that show that while the profession is valued, the general public remains relatively uninformed about its reach,” said Mrs. Maud Cohen, Eng., President of the OIQ. “We therefore decided to carry out a communication campaign to show the many facets of one of the most passionate professions—a profession that has a concrete impact on every element of our society. In doing so, we also hope to interest people in the vocation, in order to ensure they continue to take up this field,” added Mrs. Cohen.
“Engineers move the world forward; everything around us is made by them. We wanted to express the ubiquity of engineering and the diversity of the profession in this promotion campaign, designed with Quebec’s engineers in mind,” said Mr. Sébastien Maheux, Creative Team Leader at Bleublancrouge.
It consists of a first component of a campaign promoting the profession, which represents an investment of $4.5 million over a period of three years. Entirely financed by members, the campaign is the result of a special contribution ratified at the OIQ’s annual general meeting in June 2011.
