As stipulated in section 8 of the Regulation respecting other terms and conditions for the issuance
of permits by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (March 2002), Junior engineers must work under the immediate control and supervision of a certified Engineer throughout their work as Junior Engineers. This supervision is both professional and technical; the supervising Engineer must assume professional responsibility for all work.
The training period offers junior engineers a chance to have an experienced engineer validate
their work and ensure the quality. It is important to note that the level of work to be done should gradually become more complex, to keep pace with the Junior Engineer’s progress in learning.
