1. Extensions
To request an extension of your deadline for taking and passing assigned examinations, you need to fill out the review request form and pay the file review fee (click here to view the Fee Schedule). Your request must include the reasons why you were not able to write your assigned examinations by the set deadline and specify the period of time that you will need to write them. You will also need to submit supporting documentation so that the Professional Practice Admission Committee (previously named the Examiners' Committee) can evaluate the soundness of your reasons.
You should know that if you write an examination in the last session it is offered before the deadline set for you (it is not enough to simply register for an examination), an additional six months will automatically be granted to you.

2. Change in the new Policy on evaluating engineering permit applications
If you received your assigned examination(s) before January 1, 2013, your file was evaluated under the previous policy. To be evaluated under the new policy, you can request a file review.
Before you submit a review request, we encourage you to consult “The Compass” so that you can assess how it will impact your currently assigned examinations. It is important to use this tool before you submit a review request because the number of assigned examinations may be higher when the new policy is applied.
Please note that no exemption will be granted if you have already failed one or more examinations.

We strongly suggest that you obtain a copy of your examination booklet so that you can submit your comments and arguments to the marker.
You can add a letter to the review request form with explanations for the marker. For instance, you can indicate the answers that you believe are worth more points and the reasons you think so.
