Montreal, February 9, 2010 - As the National Assembly resumes its work and the media continues to report alleged cases of embezzlement in the construction and consulting engineering sectors, the President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), Maud Cohen, Eng., believes that everyone should make restoring public trust their prime objective.
Awarding of contracts by municipalities, the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec wants more than transparency
Montréal, December 1, 2009 - Addressing the Land-Use Planning Committee of Québec's National Assembly, the President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, Ms. Maud Cohen, Eng., today insisted "that the temptation to adopt patchwork solutions must be resisted. Instead, it is vital to renew all of the processes involved in awarding contracts, especially those for professional engineering services in Québec's municipalities." The OIQ President feels that more is needed than just measures to ensure transparency; the approach must be changed in depth.
