    Places of practice

    To edit information about your place of practice, you must log in to your Portal.

    If you practice the engineering profession, you must declare each place (hereafter: employer or workplace) where you practice the profession; you must also inform the OIQ of any change within 30 days. In addition, you must update your professional domicile.

    If you work as an outsourced engineer at a client's site (e.g. a manufacturing company), you must declare both your employer (primary workplace) and the client (other place of practice). Note: The places where you provide "site" supervision for a client do not count as an employer.

    If you practice the engineering profession, you must declare your employer. For each employer, you must provide at least the following information:

    • its name – as registered in the Québec enterprise register if this place of practice is located in Québec;

    • its address (mailing or physical);

    • the telephone number;

    • an e-mail address.

    If you are self-employed, enter your name in the space provided for the employer's name.

    When you change employers, you must enter the date on which you stop working for that employer, and provide the required information for the new employer as well as the start date for the job.
