Given the rapidly and continuously changing competencies required by engineers to practice their professional activities, the OIQ felt obligated to pass a regulation to oversee continuing education activities made mandatory for its members.
The OIQ’s Board of Directors passed the Regulation on mandatory continuing education for engineers on December 10th, 2010.
Under this Regulation, OIQ members must complete at least 30 hours of continuing education over a two-year reference period, unless they have been partially or fully exempt. The first reference period started on April 1st, 2011 and will end on March 31st, 2013.
