    Algeria: not many differences

A native of Algeria, Karima Niboucha, Jr. Eng. came to Québec in 2010.

Trained as a chemical engineer with a master's degree in process engineering, she worked in Algeria for a multinational in the field of refining. Karima also does not see major differences between the way that engineering is practiced in Québec and her homeland, which is perhaps related to the fact that she practiced the profession at a multinational.

However, Algeria does not have an order of engineers.
“I understand why the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec carefully supervises the profession, including new arrivals, who should expect the job search to take more time as a result," she says. “I understand why the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec carefully supervises the profession, including new arrivals. And sometimes, it is necessary to allow for the extra time that this may add to the job search," she says.
